We are excited and proud to share that Community Volunteers Wales was awarded the Trailblazer Award at the 2023 Welsh Charity Awards for our work in setting up The Pantri.
About the Awards
The WCVA Welsh Charity Awards is an annual event that highlights the unsung heroes of the Welsh charitable sector. These awards serve as a platform to acknowledge and celebrate the tireless efforts of organisations and individuals striving to make a positive impact on the Welsh community.
There are eight categories in the Welsh Charity Awards, which received a record number of entries this year, with hugely inspiring stories.
Hosted by TV presenter Siân Lloyd, the awards took place on 11 October at the beautiful Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff, with a black tie event and three course dinner.
The Trailblazer Award
The Trailblazer award is awarded to an organisation that has tried a new approach or done something pioneering or innovative to make a huge difference to people’s lives.
Community Volunteers Wales was one of three nominees including the incredible Tanio and Cwm Taf Morgannwg Dementia Support Team.
All finalists are organisations that are leading the way in their field and trying new ways to improve their services and help their communities. Including using new technologies, futureproofing the organisation, or tackling big issues such as climate change. Whatever the trailblazing approach is, it demonstrates a positive impact on others, and that the organisation has changed the way it operates.
